God

This message launches the Reconnect series with a look at how our view of God’s character shapes our connection to Him. Using Psalm 34:8 as the foundation—“Taste and see that the Lord is good”—the sermon invites us to evaluate whether our perception of God draws us close or pushes us away. Many of us carry misperceptions: that God only loves us if we behave, that He’s a killjoy, that He’s distant, silent, or untrustworthy. But the Psalms paint a different picture: God’s love is steadfast (chesed), His ways are life-giving, He is near to the brokenhearted, and He is faithful to every promise. The message encourages us to move past cultural and personal misconceptions and see God for who He truly is—so we can move toward a deeper, more authentic relationship with Him.
